The First Artifact Refiner in the Interstellar Era

○ Higher-Dimensional Invasion | National Fate Game | Artifact-Refining Master

Qu Chi-yue, a senior science-track student at Huaxia No. 1 High School, was in a car accident on the day she set off to take her college entrance exams and fell into a coma for three whole years.

Dressed in her blue-and-white school uniform, Qu Chi-yue transmigrated to the cultivation world.

Before she could decide whether to apply for intelligent manufacturing or mechanical and electronic engineering, the Grand Elder of the Artifact Refining Sect found her and brought her into the sect.

Qu Chi-yue: Fine, artifact refining can count as a mechanical engineering major... right?

Qu Chi-yue thrived in the cultivation world, where everyone sought her out to craft artifacts.

She poured her heart and soul into crafting a spirit vessel capable of crossing the void, never imagining that the other side of the void would be her hometown.

*

The same year Qu Chi-yue fell into a coma,

a higher-dimensional civilization invaded Blue Star, turning it into a game arena.

Every citizen over the age of eighteen was forced to become a player. No one was spared.

By the third year of the higher-dimensional invasion, Blue Star was in ruins.

People could be swept into game instances at any moment, spawned by dimensional distortions. In the real world, rifts left behind by the devastation were everywhere.

Qu Chi-yue: I've been gone for a few years. How did the world end?

The world rifts swallowed up her old home. Qu Chi-yue parked her spirit vessel inside one of them, hung up a sign, and reopened her little artifact shop!

Once a game instance has been cleared the maximum number of times, it closes permanently.

The national strategy teams dispatched by the authorities are often the first to enter new instances, risking their lives to bring back guides.

Members of the strategy team recently discovered a little shop on Blue Star. The items sold there could actually be used inside the instances!

These items dramatically reduced the death toll in the instances. The authorities reached out to Qu Chi-yue and invited her to join the national strategy team as a special consultant.

Team Member A sheepishly asked, "Researcher Qu, could you take a look at my weapon and see if you can fit it with a huge cannon? The kind that fires a dozen shots at the enemy in one second."

Qu Chi-yue looked at the pistol in his hand, no bigger than her palm, and fell silent.

Team Member B came running over and asked, "Researcher Qu, could you invent a cat carrier that can take a Thunderous Hound into an instance?"

Qu Chi-yue looked at the household pet carrier he held up, which was smaller than one of the Thunderous Hound's toenails, and fell silent again.

"Researcher Qu..."

"...Shut up."

*

After Qu Chi-yue became the strategy team's specially appointed weapons researcher, the people of Blue Star found that clearing game instances had become far less dangerous.

All they had to do was trade with the strategy team for an instance guide, then buy the matching gear developed by Researcher Qu. Once inside, they could hit whatever they aimed at, and clear the instance in no time.

Reader's guide:

1. A powerful-couple pairing: Lou Wang, the strategy team leader, x Qu Chi-yue, artifact-refining master.

2. The male lead is a merman, not a mermaid. He's the fierce, shirtless kind of merman.

3. The story is entirely fictional and has nothing to do with reality. The author made it all up.

4. Haven't thought of anything else yet.
