A Dangerous Relationship

1.

Yu Zhiquan once thought that losing his legs and his love had made him the most pitiful person in the world.

That was until he met Shen Yichuan again, the person who had taken everything from him.

He thought he could make Shen Yichuan even more miserable than himself.

He thought he could slowly torment Shen Yichuan.

But Shen Yichuan took an unexpected knife meant for him.

At that moment, it was as if Yu Zhiquan's heart had lost all feeling too.

Covered in blood, Shen Yichuan smiled at him and spoke in a remarkably casual tone. "I don't owe you anything anymore. We're even."

Yu Zhiquan thought that Shen Yichuan always had a way of making him feel even more pitiful with ease.

It turned out that something was more terrifying than losing everything: having nothing left to tie him to Shen Yichuan.

2.

As the truth from years ago slowly came to light, Yu Zhiquan finally learned that Shen Yichuan was ill.

So ill that he had nearly lost himself, yet he had never given up on Yu Zhiquan.

It turned out Yu Zhiquan had missed so much.

It turned out he had nearly lost Shen Yichuan forever.

It turned out that he was the one who truly needed to repay a debt.
