After I Died, the Divine Maiden Went Mad

-

Before she turned seventeen, Si Jinyou was a gifted and peerlessly elegant Holy Maiden of the demonic path. A mere wave of her sleeve inspired the adoration of countless people.

After she turned seventeen, her meridians were ruined, and both her spirit and body were destroyed. She could only eke out a living by using spirit herbs to fashion herself bones and flesh, becoming a useless wretch anyone could trample on.

Her power and influence ebbed away like a receding tide. Even her fiancee, who once had eyes only for her, quickly broke off their engagement and turned to someone else, even sneering to Si Jinyou's face that she was "useless."

Si Jinyou gloomily drank herself into a stupor, then spent a night with a beautiful opera singer after getting drunk.

When she woke up, the singer said only, "I've been in love with you for a long time."

-

Si Jinyou took the singer home.

At first, she acted out of guilt. Si Jinyou treated the singer with respect and care, doing everything she could to protect her beneath her own broken wings.

But the singer feared nothing. Her slender body stood in front of Si Jinyou, getting angry on her behalf, applying medicine to her wounds, and singing for her. Her warm, delicate presence wrapped itself around Si Jinyou.

Little by little, Si Jinyou fell deeply in love.

But just when she loved her most, a frost-white sword pierced Si Jinyou's heart.

"The spirit fruit is ripe. The demoness must die."

It turned out there had never been an unfortunate singer with no one to rely on, nor any kindred spirits sharing a harmonious life together.

There was only Yan Minghe, the righteous goddess, pure as the breeze and bright as the moon, who endured humiliation and used her own body to nourish the spirit herb so she could ascend to the Great Dao.

-

Yan Minghe, the greatest swordswoman among the cultivation world's younger generation, was wise and proud, her brilliance dazzling.

Since entering the path, she had slain demons and monsters, cultivated, and saved the world, becoming a beacon of righteousness. Yet just as she was about to attain the Great Dao, her Dao heart shattered. Wielding a broken sword, she fought her way to becoming the Demon Lord.

They say it was to find someone.

Later, Si Jinyou awoke among a roomful of meticulously carved wooden puppets and spirit herbs. The beautiful singer, eyes red, cradled her face and called out obsessively,

"Youyou..."

She would hide Youyou away...
