Does the Blue Lock Special Effects Guy Have to Play Volleyball Too?

Effects Guy is a senior employee at the Plane Administration Bureau. His job is to add flashy effects to anime characters and make their shows more entertaining. His best-known works include The Basketball of ○ko and ○lock. After the first season of ○lock wrapped up, Effects Guy finally got a long-overdue vacation. But before his vacation was even halfway over, he received a notice from his superior: "Plans have changed. Your vacation is over early. The volleyball production needs an effects specialist." Effects Guy: "Huh?!" His boss sighed. "Anime these days is getting more and more over-the-top. To keep up with the times, we've decided to try something bold: we're sending you to the Haikyuu ○ears set." "Oh, and you'll be going as a student." Effects Guy: "Huh?!!" You've got to be kidding! He's been a corporate drone for years, and now they're sending him back to school?! And he doesn't know the first thing about volleyball! The only ball sports he knows are basketball and soccer! A strange new recruit joins the Fukurodani volleyball team at the start of the new school year. He's handsome, with sharp features, and the black hair over his forehead is dyed dark blue at the tips. He's got both a lip piercing and earrings. But every day he looks listless, as if he's seething with resentment toward the world. When asked what position he specializes in, he answers: "I have absolutely no idea how to play volleyball." "But I know a thing or two about basketball and soccer." Konoha Akinori: "...Is this guy a troublemaker? He's definitely a troublemaker, right?!" Bokuto Kotaro: "Ooooooh! He's going to use techniques from other ball sports to play volleyball? That sounds so cool!!" All right, all right. He may not be much good with his hands, but at least he's got great footwork. The Fukurodani team reluctantly accepts the new recruit. But when he slides in to save the volleyball during a match, leaving a trail of sparks and lightning, the Fukurodani team is left speechless. Wait, dude??? Is that what all you transfers from the soccer team do??? Why do you have special effects when you play ball?! ###Reader Advisory### 1. Blurb written on August 4, 2024. 2.
