Here's the premise for now. The blurb may change when I start writing.
That year, she was still a butterfly without a mind of her own, about to die beneath a spider's venomous fangs, when a young man cleaved the web with one stroke of his sword.
He hadn't meant to save her, but she never forgot him.
From then on, no matter the frost, wind, rain, or snow, a dreamlike, gorgeous blue butterfly would gently alight on the tip of his murderous sword.
The elders of the demon clan said that butterflies were born in spring and died in winter, their lives too short to achieve the Great Dao.
But she was too stubborn. She wanted only to see him one more time, so she gave everything she had to take human form and infiltrated the lofty immortal sect. Amid the crowds, the mortal world, and the snow, she watched him silently from neither too close nor too far away.
She would not disturb him, nor ask for more.
People came and went from the young man's side. He grew from a mere sword cultivator into the foremost white moonlight of the sword path.
Her life, too, reached its end.
Before she vanished completely, she summoned the courage she had never found before and confessed her love to him.
As expected, he refused to associate with a demon.
She smiled, finally at peace.
That day, blue butterflies filled the skies above Lingxu Sect, vanishing the moment they touched, like bubbles in a dream.
Everyone said they were the tears shed by a demon as it disappeared from the world.

Many years later, the butterfly emerged from its cocoon once more and returned to the old place, only to discover in shock that the cultivation world had changed beyond recognition.
They said the foremost white moonlight of the sword path had suffered a shattered sword heart a century ago and fallen into demonic cultivation. He had grown more terrifyingly powerful with every passing year, asking everyone he met whether they had seen his Dao companion.
She blinked. "Who is his Dao companion?"
The storyteller sighed. "A butterfly who died and vanished from the Dao."
"...?"
