The pairing and characterizations are unchanged. The premise and blurb have been tweaked.
(I commissioned a gorgeous cover. The design isn't finished yet, but I'm too excited to show everyone, so I've put it up with a little censorship for now~)
(7/13) New blurb:
After twenty years of wandering, Kryptonian Christopher Kent finally settled on the blue planet his adoptive father had sworn to protect. Like all his relatives, he became a cape-wearing superhero.
He rented a high-rise apartment in Bludhaven, met the friends Clark introduced him to, and joined the Titans, a team of young superheroes.
His new life on Earth seemed orderly and promising, except that the workplace always has a way of giving naive young people a rude awakening.
First, when he introduced himself, the superhero name Chris had chosen clashed with the name of the team's most senior member.
Then, while helping with a night patrol, he dropped in from above and accidentally wrecked a vigilante's trap, letting a key witness escape.
And let's not forget all the disapproving looks he earned from the Bat-Family's superheroes for embarrassing himself during training and causing excessive property damage on missions.
Chris was about to cry. “Uncle Clark, Earth is scary, the workplace is scary. I want to go back to Krypton...”
Even worse than Krypton having exploded was the fact that, over the past month, the person he'd offended over and over was always the same: the Titans' leader, Nightwing.
Nightwing was Batman's first protégé. Chris had heard long ago that Nightwing was the easiest of Gotham's superheroes to get along with, but reality seemed to be telling him something entirely different.
For example, Nightwing was an absolute dictator on the team, and nobody dared contradict him. He was mysterious and handsome, with a serious control streak, and he never joined the Titans for dinner. Despite being an ordinary human with no superpowers, he nearly left Chris, a Kryptonian, struggling to keep up. And most terrifying of all, Nightwing even dared to stand up to Batman!
One day, Chris saw Nightwing punch a shallow dent into a concrete wall, and this time he really did feel like crying.
So when he got home that night, he wrapped his arms around his crush's waist and lay on his springy thighs, taking comfort in the gentle kindness of the young police officer. At last, he couldn't hold back and began complaining about how harsh, cutting, stern, and inhuman his “boss” was...
Dick “Super-Strength Robin” “Protector of Bludhaven” “Titans Leader” “The Actual Nightwing” Grayson, who had been planning to talk to his crush about secret identities that very day, suddenly froze with a smile on his face.
Dick began wondering what exactly he'd done wrong in the way he looked after the new team member...
*Kryptonian deduction mini-play:*
Chris: “What? You're saying Dick and Nightwing have equally amazing butts, so they're the same person?”
Chris: “No way. How could anyone be a cop by day, lead the Titans at night, be Nightwing in the early hours, help out the Justice League on Saturdays, put out fires in Gotham on Sundays, and still find three days a week to go on dates with me? It's not like he's Superman!”
Note:
1. The original titles were I Became a Kryptonian Kid, but Got Married Young and If You Have Something to Say, Put Away the Kryptonite First.
2. One-on-one pairing, happy ending.
3. The only other confirmed pairing is Clark and Lois, the parents' romance. There may be mentions of Conner and Tim or the twins and Tim, but no explicit relationship.
4. This blurb isn't final and may still be revised before the story opens.
Theme: Heroes deserve happiness.
