The Beautiful but Broken Male Lead Doesn't Need Saving

Wei Ziyuan happened upon a divine sword.

The instant he touched it, a beautiful immortal suddenly appeared.

Just from the look of his back, he seemed utterly vile, filthy, and sinister.

Amid the fading lamplight, the immortal glanced back. That fleeting glimpse made Wei Ziyuan's heart tremble violently.

When he opened his eyes again, it was as if he had awoken from a dream.

Later, when he learned that the "immortal" was a Demon Lord from three thousand years ago who had committed every evil imaginable, he was even more pleased.

So Wei Ziyuan, whose Golden Core was shattered and who had lost everything, immediately decided that he would resurrect this "immortal."

-

Once, Wei Ziyuan was the celebrated Lord Linghua, known to all as a man of noble character and extraordinary cultivation.

Then the prestigious immortal clans imprisoned him, carved away his flesh and blood, and forced him to fall into an abyss ten thousand zhang deep.

The abyss was also known as the "Tribulation Prison," a hellish cage formed from all things under heaven and earth, just as its name suggested.

By then, his immortal core had been dug out and his spiritual power was gone. He fell like a rag into a formation made from blood sacrifices, suffering the assault of astral energy day after day, unable to live or die.

He couldn't remember how many times he had awoken in the abyss, nor how many people had pretended to care for him, curry favor with him, or like him after he woke up...

He only remembered that they were noisy, so noisy they kept him from sleeping.

So he killed them all.

Then one day, someone appeared beside him without a sound.

"Fellow Daoist, do you need help?"

A gentle, warm voice fell beside his ear like celestial music, just like the "seduction lines" he had heard countless times before.

He lay there like a corpse, expressionless and unwilling to respond.

He even secretly decided that if this person dared make another sound, he would hack him to pieces and feed the slices to the dogs.

But after waiting a while, he still didn't hear another word from the other person.

Wei Ziyuan lifted his eyelids and saw the man leave without looking back, as if he couldn't see Wei Ziyuan's feeble, half-dead state.

Wei Ziyuan: ...
