[First-person synopsis, third-person main story]

My name is Yu Shang. I'm twenty-one and work as a full-time writer.

At sixteen, I became famous across the country with an infinite-flow novel, made a fortune, and even landed in the top ten of the Forbes rich list.

My life was smooth sailing, and at eighteen, I met the love of my life.

Three years later, we were still as devoted to each other as ever.

*

But one day...

He vanished, disappearing from my life completely.

I asked all our friends: Where is he? Where did he go?

They fell silent for a moment, looking at me as if they suspected I was delusional.

They all said, "Who? Is there even such a person? Yu Shang, do you have delusions?"

I refused to believe it and went to the police station to file a report.

But the police told me there was no record of his identity in the database. Was he undocumented?

No, he wasn't.

He didn't exist...?

Impossible. Absolutely impossible...

My memories couldn't be wrong.

But why...

Why was I the only person in the world who remembered him?

*

From then on, I searched frantically for proof that he had existed.

I searched for two years, but couldn't find the slightest trace of him.

Just as I was falling into despair, the world shattered

Mountains and rivers overturned, buildings collapsed, the earth shook.

Countless anguished cries rose from the abyss beneath the ground, echoing in the ears of all humanity without end.

I suddenly realized the scene was familiar, so familiar it made me tremble.

It was the world of the novel I'd written, and the beginning of everything.

"The Abyss"... had arrived!
