A Hong Kong Police Intern Who Can Talk to the Killer's Household Appliances

In the 1980s, after joining the Yau Ma Tei Police Station in West Kowloon, rookie policewoman Tan Qingxuan, whose health has suddenly become especially frail, is widely nicknamed a flower-and-potted-plant combo: pretty enough to please the eye, but utterly useless.

The next day, the police station's restroom is blocked. An inspector goes to check and finds a bag leaking bloody water lodged in the drain. Just as he is about to open it, the potted-plant combo rushes over to stop him.

"Don't open it! There's a bomb inside!"

After earning great merit, she comes under suspicion within the station and is asked how she knew there was something wrong with the bomb.

"I smelled chemicals on the bag."

After that, Tan Qingxuan gets to work on numerous baffling major cases. Each time, she solves the case and catches the culprit by claiming that her scientifically verified "super senses" let her hear, see, or smell something. She even clears out major unsolved cases that have languished in the archives for years, making psychopaths tremble at the sound of her name. Her future is bright as noon, and she races all the way toward becoming the director of the police department!

At the peak of her career, Hong Kong's media, obsessively following the future Governor, ask her if anything troubles her.

Tan Qingxuan has a bitter secret.

Every night, she is psychically transported into some household appliance at a killer's home, including, but not limited to, a refrigerator storing a severed head and a pressure cooker stewing human ribs... She wants to request weekends off too. She wants the psychic visits to stop.

She can't sleep. She really can't sleep!

In the darkness, the killers hate her to the bone and plan to eliminate her outright.

"She has a weakness. She's actually terrible in a fight! We just need to catch her alone and kill her! Chop off her head, skin her alive..."

What they don't know is that every time she solves a case, Tan's constitution is refined anew.

By the end, she'd be like Li Xunhuan with his flying daggers.
