The Man Who Tamed the Bad Dog

*This novel includes, but is not limited to, literature about a big brother stealing his younger brother’s love, an idiotic, childish top reforming his ways, a stepmother trope (planned as a landmine in an alternate-timeline extra), and forced love with twin brothers sandwiching the bottom. *The bottom has had intimate encounters that did not go all the way with several men who are not the official top. *Melodrama from beginning to end. He had grown used to all the things he was forced to give up, and all the people who were forced to leave him, “because he was a Beta.” He became the sort of person who easily said, “Forget it,” and engraved the unconventional motto “It’s my good fortune if I get it, and fate if I don’t” on his forehead. Wu Qie had secretly loved an Alpha. But before he had the chance to confess, that Alpha met an Omega with a high compatibility rating. They fell in love at first sight, and from then on, the aloof, noble Alpha young master bent down toward the Omega from the lower city. Wu Qie was heartbroken, but what could he do? He was only a Beta. Even worse, the day after his heartbreak, beneath the noisy stands of a basketball game, in the locker room, another Alpha, who was more or less his fiancé, pinned him against the wall and bit his neck. The back of Wu Qie’s neck, where a special-gender gland should have been, was bitten to shreds and left bloody. Wu Qie was dizzy and could barely stand, overwhelmed by the top Alpha pheromones forced into his body. The odious Alpha stood nearby and said matter-of-factly, “Don’t feel well? Just bear with it. I can’t exactly go bite Lin Zuwen.” Lin Zuwen was this Alpha’s childhood friend, an Omega. Before he became Wu Qie’s fiancé, everyone thought the two of them were made for each other. The conclusion was clear. Without exception Alphas are lowly animals ruled by smell and sensation. They’re turtles. They’re dogs. * One rainy night, Zhao Shu lost his fiancé at a banquet. The young master of the Zhao family searched so frantically he was about to turn the entire venue upside down and shake it out. In the end, he rushed out the door in a panic and came upon a familiar Rolls-Royce. In the pouring rain, the car slowly pulled up in front of Zhao Shu and stopped. The window lowered halfway, revealing the calm eyes of the man in the back seat, inside the dimly lit car. He was the person Zhao Shu trusted most in the world. “What are you panicking about?” The man’s voice was low and magnetic as he asked the drenched young man outside the car. “Brother, I’m looking for Wu Qie.” The young man stared up at him, bewildered and helpless. “Have you seen him?” Inside the car. Zhao Guipu gently stroked the long, fair nape of the dark-haired young man sleeping with his head on Zhao Guipu’s lap. After a long while, he gave a soft laugh. “No.” * Puppy-like Alpha brats × Beta A story about Alphas driven mad by their ruts and stinking up the place with their pheromones × a calm, bewildered Beta who is unaffected by pheromones. Reader warnings 1. One-on-one, but there are lots of tops. The one who ends up with the bottom may not get the most page time. The bottom may be a heartthrob adored by all. 2. A partly fictional setting, written to indulge the author’s kinks. Old-fashioned and melodramatic, with scum tops but no slut-shaming. The top(s) behave terribly and are all trash.
