Shh, the King Is Hibernating

"No sport is made great solely by the athletes standing on the competition podium." From Chapter 100 of this story, paying tribute to everyone in the snow sports industry who has never stood on the highest podium but continues to promote snow sports * [The print edition includes an additional 42,000-word bonus story. The complete four-volume set is available on e-commerce platforms.] [The complete companion novel, Wild Dog, is finished. Find it in my author collection.] [Important] The official version of this novel belongs to Jinjiang. Bugs were fixed in later revisions. The author is not responsible for other versions. Blurb One: Breaking news! The true queen of pink comics, an otaku, suddenly abandons martial arts for literature and starts serializing a wholesome competitive comic about snowboarding. Is she middle-aged and out of inspiration, or has she been blessed with a stroke of genius and answered the call to "get 300 million people on the ice and snow"? Fan 1: A sports story, nice! So when are the male lead, second male lead, and female lead going to get it on? Fan 2: A sports story, great! So the male lead, second male lead, and female lead spend every day training on the jump instead of getting it on? Fan 3: Thanks for the question. I'm in the industry and have a vested interest, so I'll remain anonymous. Where did the artist get those explanations of riding techniques that are even more precise than instructional snowboarding videos? One day, at a national snowboarding championship, during the big air event. A camera accidentally caught Shan Chong, a big-air snowboarding legend who had returned to competition two years after retiring, walking out of the athletes' lounge. Three seconds later, a little girl who only came up to his shoulder hurried after him, a helmet and goggles that were clearly too big hanging from her elbow... She caught up in a few quick steps and tugged at the sleeve of his snow jacket. When he turned around, she bent forward as if she had something to say... She rose onto her tiptoes, angrily slammed the helmet onto his head, then reached out and gave his ear a fierce tug. Fan 1: I think I just saw our otaku queen on TV. Fan 2: Is she at a snowboarding competition instead of staying home and updating her comic? Fan 3: Thanks for the question. I'm in the industry and have a vested interest, so I'll remain anonymous. She's not here for research; she's here to pick up a man. Your queen has stolen the biggest legend in our snowboarding circle. Tremble, humanity! Blurb Two: "When you're tearing up Niseko in Japan, dominating Hakuba in Nagano, squatting on Xinjiang's Avenue of the Gods (?), or crouching low as you cut through the woods at Wanlong in Chongli... don't forget the person who once knelt in the snow to teach you how to get back up and how to ride. He, " "After the lifts closed, he took me to an advanced run that looked to be at least seven kilometers long and said, 'Either you sideslip all the way down today, or I'll come up here tomorrow morning and collect your body.'" "...What did you do to him? A regular instructor wouldn't be that mean." "I wouldn't let him take off his face mask." "Why?" "That way, no matter how nasty he was, I could imagine he looked like the person I liked, then forgive him." "Who?" "Takeshi Kaneshiro... or Takashi Kashiwabara." "..." "..." "You deserve it." * Snowboarding * A retired, sharp-tongued legend with a mountain of sponsorships x a clumsy girl who loves to ride * No real-life inspirations (though I wish there were) * Snow season note: Bunnies should have long ears * To avoid comparisons to real-life inspirations, all jump statistics in this story are higher than in reality * It's my greatest honor that this story inspires people to love snowboarding. Snow season is coming, so please wear a helmet when entering or leaving the resort. Beginners, hire an instructor. Sending love. Theme: Get 300 million people on the ice and snow. Here's a little snow for you to ride
