[Football] She Often Hurts Men

[Content warnings: A feel-good coach story, focused mainly on older men competing for the female lead, with younger handsome men also joining the fray. The female lead seems sunny, but is actually cold and heartless. She’ll do anything to win, then tosses people aside once she’s done with them.]

[Lots of old guys appear, including Mou Niao, Guagua, Zhazhu, the Professor, Tutu, and others. Younger male coaches like Long Ge and Tazi Ge also appear as romantic prospects.]

[Younger players will also battle over titles like Daisa’s favorite center forward and favorite defender.]

Work-in-progress blurb:

Daisa works at Cambridge University, where she is the most popular psychology professor. She is a woman in her thirties, with a daughter, a husband, a dog, and a cat. In her spare time, she coaches the Cambridge women’s football team, which has long topped the rankings.

One day, a friend buys a League Two team and urgently needs a coach to put out the fire.

Kindhearted Daisa comes to help.

And what a rescue it is: she leads the team to promotion and sets her sights on the championship.

At her friend’s desperate pleas, Daisa agrees to keep coaching the team.

Then she meets the bald Guagua, the sharp-tongued Niao, the punch-throwing Zhazhu, the studious Long, the retired Professor...

After leading the team to a five-trophy haul, Daisa realizes that the Premier League is one enormous zoo, and not a single animal in it is cute.

The world is so big. She wants to go out and see it.

In the end, Daisa returns to England in triumph, becoming the “Empress Dowager of Ren Palace,” the “Godmother of the Big Clubs,” and the “Queen of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Football Edition”...

One of her victims protests: “People who play with tactics have rotten hearts! And Daisa doesn’t have a heart at all!”

Faced with the slander of her defeated opponents, Daisa says, “I could never deceive men!”

Content warnings: (1) Lots of old guys paired off against each other. The romance is impressionistic, while the career storyline is pure wish fulfillment.

(2) No smooching with old guys! There will be smooching with handsome guys!

(3) Planned publication: Winter 2027.
