At some point, signs of another person's life began appearing in the rental apartment.

The toothbrushes would be set side by side in the morning. The messy bed would somehow be made by evening. The trash in the bin would disappear on its own...

Lou An, a broke office worker, looked at his bank balance, then at this apartment beside a subway station in the city center, with utilities included and rent of just 800 yuan, one month's rent as a deposit and one month's rent upfront. It finally dawned on him that something unclean might be lurking in his room.

But for only 800 yuan, he could just consider it an extra roommate.

Lou An thought this in trepidation.

The ghost gentleman even came with a house-cleaning service, though sometimes he knocked over the portrait of his deceased fiance. Lou An had no choice but to feel his way through the darkness and set the photo upright again.

Then one night, unable to sleep, he lay in bed when a cold sensation suddenly swept over his lips and made its way into his mouth.

He shuddered and tried to struggle, but the ghost gentleman pinned him to the bed.

The other man chuckled and caressed Lou An's cheek, his icy breath brushing his neck.

"Who are you, really?" he asked.

...There was no answer.

During a rare vacation, Lou An returned to his hometown.

He prayed earnestly to the divine at the ancient Qinglong Temple.

Will he hurt me?

A Yin divination.

Why is he following me?

A Xiao divination.

Is he my dead fiance?

A Sheng divination.

Thesis: Even as a ghost, one must study new ideas and strive to become a good young person.
