Daily Life Living with a High School Ghost

Song He inherited an old house and transferred to a small town to start his first year of high school.

The caretaker bluntly told him the house was "unclean." With nowhere else to go, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and move in.

Lu Chuan moved out of his uncle's home with his younger brother, Lu Yu. They slept under a bridge and scraped by with odd jobs. When they unexpectedly stepped into Song He's house, the strange sounds in the courtyard abruptly stopped. It turned out Song He had a natural talent for warding off evil spirits.

After running into a ghost once again, Song He was so scared that he fled in the middle of the night and rushed to the river to find the brothers. A sudden idea struck him. "Want to rent a room at my place? Five hundred a month!" Seeing Lu Chuan stare blankly, he hurriedly changed his offer. "One hundred! One hundred is enough!"

Lu Chuan furrowed his brow but still didn't answer. Song He threw caution to the wind and raised the stakes. "I'll cover food and lodging! I'll tutor your brother for free!"

"Deal."

But once they started living together, everything turned upside down!

The food and lodging Song He had promised to provide became something he enjoyed himself. He stayed in bed until the very last moment every day, while Lu Chuan, who'd been "begged to move in," put on an apron to fry eggs and heat milk. He even had to ask Lu Yu to go wake Song He up, all while wearing a helpless frown.

The free tutoring took place at night. Song He would casually head to the bathroom and "by the way" invite Lu Yu to come along. With his hands in his pockets, Lu Yu exchanged a glance with his brother, who was leaning against the doorway, then reluctantly stood guard outside.

"Lu Yu, you're still there, right?"

"I am..." He rolled his eyes.

As expected, nothing in life comes free.
