The League Bans Double-A Players from Dating Each Other [Esports]

[This novel is fictional. Don't apply it to real life or call the cops over it.]

Jiang Ge's three greatest loves: competition, calling people his sons, and pretty faces.

Jiang Ge's three greatest dislikes: match-fixing, socializing, and Alphas.

After the autumn finals, Jiang Ge had spent half the season on the bench. He was only brought in during the playoffs as an emergency substitute, and narrowly missed out on the championship.

As accusations of match-fixing poured in from every direction, his good buddy kept calling him Dad and dragged him along to have dinner and drinks with a stranger. With pheromones messing with his head, Jiang Ge got so drunk he could barely think straight. In the bathroom, he bit a handsome, familiar-looking beta who happened to walk by.

After sobering up, Jiang Ge caught the unfamiliar pheromones on his clothes and was forced to think things over.

Had he... bitten an Alpha?

As the face of the league, He Nanxue was young, exceptionally skilled, and exceptionally handsome. His popularity was in a league of its own. Even as a beta, he was pursued by countless Alphas and Omegas.

Unfortunately, he was cold by nature. There had never been a single rumor about him, and he never played up any ships.

Just as everyone was wondering who could catch the eye of this top-tier beta, who sat high above the rest, someone spotted him in Jiang Ge's livestream.

"Senior, you said you'd help me reach rank one in the country. You're not going to go back on your word, are you?" His voice was gentle, his tone plaintive. He didn't seem at all like the aloof beauty everyone talked about.

The streamer, Jiang Ge himself, awkwardly looked away. His usual sharp tongue, which took on the whole world, stumbled for a long moment before he managed to say just one word: "Okay."

Both fanbases were speechless.

You're number one on the ranked ladder. Why are you trying to reach rank one in the country?

And you, who call the entire league your sons. Did you donate your vocal cords? Why aren't you making your usual jokes about family relations?

Even if we give you the benefit of the doubt, you're both betas. Why are you selling a ship?

Later on, the fans fell completely silent.

Is being an Alpha some shameful secret? Why are you both pretending to be betas?

Also, you two are not allowed to get together.

The league doesn't allow Alphas to date each other, understood?!

Content notes:

1. Main character is the pursuer. Both are highly skilled.

2. They dote on each other, with the pursuer getting more pampering.

3. Some ABO elements are original to this story and exist to serve the plot. Conflicts with traditional ABO conventions are to be expected. The rules in the story take precedence.

4. The competition details combine elements from the schedules and formats of various professional gaming leagues, then reorganize and fictionalize them. Differences from real-world professional competitions are to be expected. If it bothers you, just treat it as an alternate universe. Everything serves the plot, and the story's rules take precedence.
