Where the River Flows, Happiness Comes to a Halt

Age Gap

A naturally seductive beauty x a cool guy who's not what he seems

Ge Xishuang was strikingly beautiful from a young age, with countless boys pursuing her.

But she fell for Jiang Yichuan, who was six years older.

Using her brother's friendship with him as an excuse, she deliberately got close, hoping to steal a brief moment of flirtation and tenderness.

What she thought of as "seduction" was, to him, nothing more than a young girl's childish game.

Later, her brother and father died one after the other, and her mother fell gravely ill.

With no proper claim to the place, she moved into his home as his nominal "younger sister."

And later still, she climbed into his bed.

During those two most intimate years,

he would cross half the city just to bring her a little cake,

and spend entire nights tangled up with her.

But Ge Xishuang never forgot that Jiang Yichuan had always been cold and heartless.

To him, she was nothing more than a physical need.

The year Ge Xishuang graduated from college, she packed her things and moved out of his home.

He watched coldly, without offering even a single word to make her stay.

When they met again, she had blossomed into a dazzling, alluring woman in a flight attendant's uniform, and greeted him with distant politeness: "Sir."

Jiang Yichuan went to great lengths to contact her, using the excuse that she should come back to collect her brother's old belongings.

Ge Xishuang took the things and started to leave, only for Jiang Yichuan to grab her arm, gritting his teeth as he asked, "Where are you going now?"

Ge Xishuang smiled indifferently. "Mr. Jiang, don't you know? I was only ever using you."

Jiang Yichuan cast aside all his pride and dignity and begged her, "Then keep using me. Can't you?"

At seventeen, Ge Xishuang was the responsibility of a brother-in-arms entrusted to him. He didn't dare let himself feel anything for her.

At twenty-two, Ge Xishuang was the woman he swore to love for the rest of his life.
