Getting Rich by Filming Earth Movies in the Interstellar Era

Third-rate screenwriter Su Changxia wakes up to find she has transmigrated to the interstellar era. She’s just arrived, and is about to go from a rich second-generation heir to a poor one.

After learning the situation, she discovers that her family runs a film and entertainment company. Since livestreaming took off, people have gradually abandoned the monotonous, uninspired films, and the industry has fallen into decline. Countless film companies have gone bankrupt and switched to other lines of business.

With all kinds of scripts in her head, Su Changxia thinks she can still scrape by.

If boring interstellar dramas aren’t working, then she’ll show them the power of melodramatic Earth dramas.

To revive the family company, she goes straight for the big guns: remaking a melodrama that was a huge hit in Earth’s golden 8 p.m. TV slot.

A wicked mother-in-law, a scummy husband, a poisonous best friend, and a doormat heroine who gets bullied throughout the entire drama, along with in-law conflicts, melodrama, love triangles, and all kinds of other elements.

The interstellar audience, who have only ever watched artistic romance films, are floored by their first taste of melodrama. They watch and curse at the same time.

Viewer One: “Aaaah! This drama is pure poison. I’ve never seen such a miserable heroine. It should be called The Tragic Life of the Heroine. I’m furious! I’m going to send the director a box cutter.”

Viewer Two: What garbage plot! The heroine makes me sick with frustration. All she does is cry. Why doesn’t she fight back?

Viewer Three: “The male lead is sick, the heroine is sick, and the screenwriter is sick too. What a trash drama. Was it made just to torture the audience? I’m steering clear of this director from now on.”

Su Changxia looks at the flood of bad reviews and the steadily growing box-office revenue, and smiles faintly. The interstellar audience seems pretty open-minded. Now she can boldly bring out tearjerkers, palace-intrigue dramas, horror shows...

A huge wave of Earth dramas is invading the interstellar world.
