Chu Buyi is the acknowledged stain on Fengcang Sect's reputation. Because of this, he is cautious to a fault, spending every day on tenterhooks and doing everything he can not to make people dislike him.
He thought he would spend his whole life anxiously enduring the disdain of everyone around him.
Until one day, Shen Qingning, the greatest genius of their age, voluntarily asked to become his disciple.
Shen Qingning was dressed in white, as pure as snow, and as aloof as an exiled immortal. More importantly, she was the only person in the world willing to care about and respect him.
He couldn't help falling for Shen Qingning, but that tiny spark of affection was utterly crushed on the night of the first snow by a demon.
The demon had a human torso and a snake's tail. She imprisoned him in a frigid pool and used every means at her disposal to humiliate him.
With malice in her voice, she whispered in his ear,
"If your precious disciple saw you acting like such a wanton, wouldn't she think you were filthy too?"
The more fearfully he begged for mercy, the more excited the snake's tail coiled around his thighs became.
The demon grew addicted to the taste of him, coming night after night and leaving him in a wretched state each day.
What drove him to despair even more was that, despite being a man, his belly was growing larger by the day.
At last, utterly hopeless, he went to Shen Qingning in tears and begged her for protection.
Shen Qingning looked at him with pity, drew him into her arms, and gently reassured him,
"Don't be afraid, Master. Your disciple will keep you safe."
Chu Buyi nestled trustingly in his good disciple's arms and finally slept soundly for the first time in ages.
He failed to notice the enormous snake tail swishing excitedly beneath Shen Qingning's robes.
Aloof, heaven-blessed prodigy vs. a helpless, cowardly beauty of a man
Reader's Guide: Many potential squicks
1. A traditional cultivation setting. The female lead's little snake is formed from her primordial spirit.
2. Both leads have side characters who like them. One-on-one pairing, happy ending.
3. The female lead is somewhat toxic, unaware of her own feelings, and possessive. The male lead suffers physically and emotionally. There will be a later arc where she tries to win him back, though the intensity is unknown. Overall, it'll be harsher than my last few books.
4. Readers are allowed to feel sorry for the protagonist in the comments, but please don't insult readers who do. I like both my protagonists equally; I just have a thing for forced love and bullying beautiful men.
5. The female lead is the coolest and most alluring character in the whole book. The male lead is the most beautiful and weakest.
6. If you don't like it, please don't insult me or my readers. I write because I'm nearly starving. The fact that readers still read my writing when it's this bad means they're nearly starving too, QAQ. Keep insulting me and I'll cry, just you wait.
7. I hope I'm just imagining things in points 4 and 6.
8. Wishing everyone and myself great success, hehe.
