Song He was an immortal slave, yet he married the only phoenix in the world.
The phoenix treasured him, raising him from the lowest rank of immortal slave to a revered immortal lord. No matter what he did, the phoenix would hold him close and whisper sweet nothings to him again and again.
Even when he set fire to the flowers and plants the phoenix had tended for tens of thousands of years, the phoenix still held him close and gently comforted him.
He thought this love was meant for him alone. He spent his days lost in it, growing dizzy with happiness and losing his heart.
Until one day, he saw with his own eyes the phoenix holding an attractive immortal slave in his arms and murmuring the sweet words he had heard a million times:
“Little slave, there is only one person in my heart. Don't you think I treasure you like the apple of my eye?”
“You mean my principal wife? He saved my life, so naturally I have to treat him well. But in my heart, he can't hold a candle to you.”
Song He stood rooted to the spot, lowered his eyes, and quietly walked away.
Until one day, one of the many little slaves in the phoenix's arms planted a foot hard on his lower abdomen. He cast aside his dignity and begged desperately, only to be met with even more forceful thrusts.
The little slave still looked so pitiful: “You want to bear a god's child? Have you even thought about whether you're worthy? The God himself gave the little slave permission to do all this.”
The warmth beneath him spread wider and wider, like a poppy blooming as it fed on blood and essence. Something slowly faded away from his heart and body.
At last, he awoke from the dream.
.
Tens of thousands of years later, Song He lifted the phoenix's chin. He gently placed one hand on the phoenix's slightly rounded belly and leaned closer, his hot breath brushing the phoenix's jade-white neck and making it blush like rouge from within.
He narrowed his long eyes, drew the phoenix into his arms, and smiled softly:
“Husband, why are you crying? Anyone who sees you will think little He bullied you.”
“Don't worry, husband. As long as you obediently bear little He's child, little He won't bully you anymore.”
Reader's guide:
1. This is an angst-filled, melodramatic story. The author may not be able to make it quite that angsty, but it definitely won't be sweet.
2. In the comments, you can call the bottom the top's wife, and the top the bottom's husband. This is not a non-con story. In fact, I don't welcome non-con at all. If you're going to say “the top/bottom is my wife,” please don't come here.
