Be Good and I'll Spoil You

The rule-breaking, utterly unruly rogue esper who dotes on his wife without limit, Fei Li, vs. the refined, smiling schemer who's haughty and hard to tame, the fake gentleman and ordinary human, Qiu Zhi

The first-generation esper Fei Li slept in a cryogenic pod for nearly ten years. When he woke, the world had turned upside down.

On his first day back at the Bureau of Anomaly Investigation, where everything felt both familiar and strange, the spoiled old rascal Fei Li got into a one-sided shouting match with Qiu Zhi, the elegant smiling schemer and head of the Affairs Group at the Zhi Ge Center, whom he'd never met before.

The next time they met, their relationship escalated fast: they got into a huge fight and both ended up injured.

"Group Leader Qiu, do you have any expression besides smiling?"

"No."

After just a few brief clashes, Fei Li had managed to make Qiu Zhi, known as one of the Bureau of Anomaly Investigation's three "glasses killers," lose his smile.

"Group Leader Qiu, does it hurt? If it does, be good."

The always-elegant, decisive head of the Affairs Group was knocked unconscious and left sprawled on the ground by the unreasonable, brute-force spoiled old rascal.

After that, if Qiu Zhi said one, Fei Li wouldn't dare say two. The unruly wild horse was completely tamed by the soft little white rabbit, even as he kicked up his heels and ran wild.

If you can't make a good argument, why not bend a little?

[Reading Guide]

1. Short story, happy ending, set in an alternate world with no need for research. Same-sex marriage is legal in this setting, so please don't scrutinize it.

2. One of the stories in the Tales of the Anomaly City series, about a few of the old first-generation characters. There are two couples, with more focus on Fei Li and Qiu Zhi. Many characters from other stories in the series appear, and there are crossovers. Reading the earlier story may help you understand some of the hidden easter eggs here, but it won't make much difference if you don't. Just treat this as a light, short read. Everyone in this series is a sickly beauty, so if that sounds interesting, feel free to check out the others too, hehe.
