A Day in the Life of a Student in Gotham [Western Crossover]

- Male-led romance

- Pairing: Cassandra Cain

Lin Jiawen, also known as Galvin Forest, is a novice druid with six and a half years of training under his belt.

It was a day when neither the wind nor the sun was pleasant. The old druid Ermia grabbed Galvin by the filthy collar of his robe and tossed him out of the yard like a little chick.

Waiting outside the gate were the legendary monster hunter known as the White Wolf, with two swords on his back and white hair and golden eyes, and his even more legendary beloved adopted daughter, Ciri.

"When Ciriya traveled through time and space, she once ended up in a city like this: humans lived in a jungle of steel, the roads were full of roaring metal carts, and the lights stayed on without magic...

"Galvin, go with her and take a look. Maybe that's your hometown. If you get the chance, finish that university degree you keep going on about before coming back to see me. It'll broaden this old man's horizons, too."

After two hours of being tossed around in time and space like laundry in a washing machine, Galvin wrapped his ragged druid robe around himself and stared blankly at the city's roadside sign. Every letter on it looked horribly sharp and glaring:

[Gotham City Welcomes You]

Unable to get in touch with the White Wolf or Ciri, Galvin recalled the old man's earnest instructions, took a deep breath, and began his Gotham life of forging an identity, working his way through school, and struggling to survive.

Apply to be Poison Ivy's garden assistant?

Study Scarecrow's latest toxin formulas and antidotes?

Research shapeshifting and reptile anatomy with Killer Croc?

How to control Professor Kirk Langstrom's Man-Bat transformation?

Every night, Galvin pushes his portable alchemy station, disguised as a food cart, through Gotham's alleys and over its rooftops, practicing alchemy, herbalism, healing, and shapeshifting in the field. From time to time, he also feeds the city's protectors.

Gradually, a legend spreads through the streets of Gotham:

There's a ghost, a ghost pushing a food cart, wandering around Gotham.

It wears a robe and hood. When its sleeves slip down, giant, furry bear paws can be seen. A wolf's tail and bat wings trail behind it, and its body is covered in crocodile scales. It can eat three children in one bite.

The food-cart ghost itself: O.o?

- The story is mainly set in the DC Universe, though visits elsewhere aren't out of the question.

- A blend of DC's P52 and N52, with a little bit of RB.

- The Witcher 3 game plot and various other Western fantasy settings are all thrown into the mix. Don't expect it to stick closely to canon.

- Geralt's canon pairing is Yennefer. Ciri may have a romance with one of DC's second-generation superheroes, but I can't promise either way. We'll see if the characters click.

- The main couple is one-on-one, pure love. Cass has an ex-boyfriend, Connor.

- P.S. Please don't use superhero secret identities to roleplay in the comments. The author dislikes this and may delete those comments. Third-person comments are fine.
