Sean the Demon [Western Crossover]

Once upon a time, there was a little demon named Sean.

Demons feed on the malice humans carve into their souls, so Sean carefully chose a livable city to call home.

Humans called it Gotham.

Sean designated Arkham Asylum as the kitchen, then opened his bedroom door in a grand estate called Wayne Manor. There was no delicious, filthy crime here, but another scent that demons enjoyed surrounded the place: misfortune clung to the estate.

Misfortune brings fallen souls. The little demon waited eagerly for his meal to arrive, only to be blinded by the holy light shining from that human.

Little demon: He's practically a walking fluorescent light! I can't even make out whether he's tall, short, fat, or thin! What a rare soul! I'll collect him! This demon's claiming him!

Little demon: Wait, there's another one. This time I can just about tell it's a glowing old man.

Then came a third.

A few days later, a fourth arrived.

Little demon: I can't keep track anymore. I'm tired. What's wrong with this place?

Little demon: Not one of them has fallen. I can only collect them, not eat them. This is ridiculous.

Sean declared that all these shining humans belonged to him, his rare pets. He didn't mind humans entering his room whenever they liked, or using his portals to greet people from other worlds, just as humans don't mind their cats jumping onto the bed.
