[Death Note] Jehovah

Light Yagami discovers that his classmate has many secrets.

Many secrets that should never see the light of day.

"The Lord was disappointed in humanity, for all their thoughts were evil all the time," Hayakawa Ariki watched him with a clinging intensity, focused yet somehow always seeming distracted. "So He sent rain for forty days and forty nights to wipe them out."

There was a faint brown spot on the white of his right eye, one so subtle that hardly anyone noticed it. Only a handful of people knew about it, and Light Yagami was one of them.

"I have no faith, but if it were you, Light, guiding the flood, I would gladly drown."

"If I were the Lord, Ariki, you would be the Noah I chose," the perfect honor student said, pushing a mango crepe toward him.

People often felt uncomfortable under Hayakawa Ariki's gaze, but Light Yagami calmly picked up the coffee cup on the table.

"But I'm not the Lord, so you won't be Noah, either."

"Throw that Bible of yours away, Ariki. It's meaningless."

"The real god is standing right in front of you."

1. Death Note fanfiction, BL. The pairing is exactly as the title suggests: Kira is absolutely the dominant one. Apologies for the OOC.

2. This isn't a sunny, sweet, or uplifting healing story. It's not a power fantasy, and it can be very frustrating and chuunibyou.

3. The romance has a happy ending. The battle of wits between Kira and L has an open ending, and both survive.

4. Contains disrespectful remarks about religion (the protagonist does not represent the author). Apologies, but they're required for the plot and characterization. The author fully respects different beliefs.

5. Content warnings: Ariki is forced to sell his body, and suffers a mental breakdown. Misa's role will be changed by the butterfly effect, and she will return in an alternate-timeline extra.

Theme: Hold on to what is real instead of being driven by illusions.
