[Infinite] Dream Vending Machine

A vending machine appeared in the hallway.

At first, Xu Jixue didn't think much of it, assuming it was a new fixture installed in the apartment building. Then, late one night after working overtime, Xu Jixue came home ravenous and dropped a coin into it.

The machine whirred, and an old cassette tape fell out of the slot. It clearly wasn't food.

That night, Xu Jixue went to bed hungry and, for the first time in ages, dreamed of her ex-girlfriend, Shen Tingshu. They had gone their separate ways ten years ago.

It was only a dream. It didn't mean anything.

Xu Jixue thought expressionlessly.

It was only a dream. It didn't mean anything.

Shen Tingshu thought with a smile.

Then, with a swift strike, she gave her dear ex a "big surprise."

Xu Jixue woke up after being stabbed, then fell silent amid the alarm's incessant chatter.

Xu Jixue: (Just showing up)

Shen Tingshu: You've been provoking me this whole time.
