When Tsukishima Became My Full-Time Male Model

My name is Kamiya Nako.

My older brother, Kamiya Rankyu, is a basketball fanatic.

Thanks to his influence, I'm very familiar with all kinds of sports anime, and I know the stats on cosplay outfits and athletes' abs like the back of my hand.

That's also how I attracted a little yellow ball claiming to be a costume-making System. It ordered me to make an outfit every season and get someone to wear it. Otherwise, I'd turn into a mindless little flatworm.

Because of the System's irresistible power, I moved to Miyagi Prefecture when I was five and met my neighbor, Tsukishima Kei.

After many friendly conversations with the occasional sarcastic jab, and a long process of rubbing each other the wrong way and making up, we became the closest childhood friends!

I'm a costume designer, and he's my dedicated cosplayer/model. We happily attend Amemaru Middle School together, embarking on all sorts of fun adventures~

At my birthday party, I reenacted the Lotus Ultraman scene. After eating cake, I wished that A-tsuki would grow abs and pecs so I could play with him all night. He gave me a hard poke on the head.

I'll remember this grudge.

There's actually such a thing as a friendship lamp. We had so much fun playing with it. Tsukishima got mad...

Made up with him!

The drama club needed help with a performance. Tsukishima said he absolutely wouldn't wear a skirt to play volleyball with me.

He put it on.

We started at Karasuno High School and met a whole bunch of interesting people. We had so much fun.

Strange, has Tsukishima gotten even more sharp-tongued?

The Akatsuki outfits look so cool. I made Tsukishima wear one.

The kitchen exploded.

The outfits from Good Morning, Big and Small are so fun. I made Tsukishima wear one.

Guitars are so fun.

The Emperor's New Clothes plus chains are so thrilling. I made Tsukishima wear it.

Huh. Is this pose called a kabedon?

I got a promotion, a raise, married Tsukishima Kei, and reached the peak of life. Yay!

The handsome big brother laughed so hard that tears of emotion sprang from his eyes. "Yes."

When Mina was six, the Demon King appeared.

Mina vowed to become a hero who would save the world.

She studied magic at school, gathered an elf archer, a merfolk mage, a knight with a shield, and the handsome big brother who could heal, then set out to slay the Demon King.

Every time they reached a town and resolved a major problem, she announced to the world that the handsome big brother was the one she would marry someday.

The handsome big brother was delighted.

He recorded every single thing she did, and at night he would tell her stories and soothe her to sleep.

Mina loves her big brother most of all~

Fifteen years later.

Mina, recovering memories of her previous life, is struck by a bolt from the blue.

The long-lived man boasts that he's maintained his youthful looks, says he raised her with great difficulty, then pulls out a pile of embarrassing evidence and sighs, "It was so cute when you cried and insisted you were going to marry me as a kid."

Mina fires a forbidden spell straight at him. "Get lost!!"

A thousand years ago, the long-lived man made a human friend.

His friend was the chosen one of the world. Whenever the Demon King appeared, he would be reborn, shouldering the mission of saving humanity, then killing the Demon King and dying after a short life of a hundred years.

During his friend's first reincarnation, he was merely an observer.

He watched the other man's home be destroyed. He watched him stumble along the road, make friends and lose them, then slay the Demon King in despair and fury before dying.

During his friend's second reincarnation, he somehow became her companion.

He followed her through every obstacle, experiencing up close her courage (getting into trouble), her optimism (getting caught after causing trouble and thinking it was no big deal), the meals she made that could send someone to hell, and the clothes that fell apart after being washed.

And so they went from strangers to companions, from companions to close friends who could talk about anything, then watched each other grow old, until the other was laid to rest amid the sound of mourning, gone forever.

A human life is so short.

There were so many things they promised to do together, yet she left him all alone.

If heroes appear to destroy the Demon King, then if he became the Demon King, would his friend have a longer life in her third reincarnation?

He became the Demon King.

The Demon King belongs to the hero.
