[Devoted, Gentle Top Who Spoils His Husband x Hot-Tempered, Mentally Unstable Monster Bottom]
Lin Shenge held a funeral. It was for his husband.
After the funeral, he returned home, and one eerie incident followed another.
First, someone knocked on his door, looking and sounding exactly like his dead husband. Then, to his horror, Lin Shenge realized that his husband had come back. And not just one of him.
In the eyes of everyone else, Lin Shenge was sick. Ever since he returned from that "Eye," a place with a danger rating of S.
At the funeral, the coffin had been empty. There hadn't been a body inside.
At a banquet, he spoke softly to the empty air: "I'm still not very good at tying a tie. Is this okay?"
After a brief pause, he smiled and said to himself, "As long as you like it."
As if someone really were answering him from the air.
Inside the "Eye," he fought like a madman, heedless of his own life, covered in blood, like a red-eyed monster from hell.
Yet when the mission ended and everyone was ready to evacuate, he frantically searched through the stinking mud left behind by the monsters as they dissolved. "I found you. I'll find you! Shen Xun, I will bring you home!"
When Lin Shenge looked so savage and bloodthirsty, no one dared approach him. Unless they said, "Didn't you say Mr. Shen was waiting for you at home?"
Then he would slowly calm down, a faint smile appearing on his gentle face. "That's right. I have to hurry back."
Of course, none of the people who went on missions with him actually believed what they said.
They were simply following their superiors' orders, playing along with the lie to keep the Federation's strongest and sharpest "Blade" from suffering further mental deterioration.
They only watched coldly from the sidelines.
Now and then, someone would feel sorry for him, but only because he was so handsome, and it was a shame he was crazy.
Even Lin Shenge sometimes wondered whether he really was sick.
One moment, he remembered that his husband had just died. The next, he felt sure his husband hadn't died at all, that it had only been a nightmare. Otherwise...
Where had their child come from?
He held a lump of twisted monster and smiled.
This planet was sick. It kept sprouting "Eyes." At first, each was a huge mass of darkness. As an "Eye" slowly opened, it connected to some unknown place, and monsters poured out one after another, devouring everything nearby.
To close the "Eyes," the world gave rise to "Blades" and those who wielded them.
Shen Xun was Lin Shenge's Blade wielder. At least, he was until they went to deal with what was said to be the last "Eye."
After that, even Shen Xun himself couldn't be sure whether he was dead or alive.
