Sherlock Holmes' Little Sister

After transmigrating to Victorian England, Elara becomes the youngest sister in the family of the great detective Sherlock Holmes. Elara: ...What kind of Mary Sue nonsense is this! But life in the nineteenth century is nothing like Elara imagined. Her eldest brother, Mycroft, can become a "minor government official" and serve as the power behind the throne, protecting the British Empire from the shadows. Her second eldest brother, Sherlock, has no regard for convention. With a pipe in hand, he can solve cases and ease people's worries, becoming a celebrated legend throughout London. But no matter how clever or quick-witted Elara is, in an age when women aren't allowed to attend university, her best prospect is still to find a respectable family and marry a good man. Now, while her relatives enthusiastically introduce all sorts of eligible young men to her, Elara notices a handsome officer has appeared in town. He's none other than Mr. George Wickham, the equally "famous" scoundrel from Pride and Prejudice. When Elara finds out, she's overjoyed. "Wonderful! I've finally found a chance to run off to London!" Her relatives are furious and announce that they're cutting ties with her, but her two brothers don't seem to mind. Sherlock: "Dear little sister, you're exceptionally talented at getting into trouble. Surely a little thing like this won't defeat you." Mycroft: "If we can't even guarantee the freedom of our own family, how can we hope to keep the British government running?" Elara, now a "crime" consultant to all of Europe: "I knew my brothers would support me! Let me introduce my new boyfriend, Professor James Moriarty, who's fully behind my career." The Holmes brothers: "???" * A crossover of famous classics, but with an original story. I'll do my best to make it easy to follow even if you haven't read the original works. I'll add an author's note when characters from different novels appear. * The timeline has been changed. Sherlock Holmes's stories set the era, and the timelines of the other classics have been adjusted. Any plot holes or factual errors are entirely my fault. * They made a movie about a Sherlock Holmes little sister fanfic, so now I want to write one too! Let me write mine! (Dragged away.gif) [Jiang Hua's next book] A Writer's Life in the Nineteenth Century "A woman must have money and a room of her own if she is to write fiction." So said Woolf. Katherine Ruskin, after transmigrating to nineteenth-century England, truly understands the weight of those words. In her previous life, she was a celebrated mystery writer. Now she's trapped in London a century earlier: Her family is on the brink of bankruptcy, her father is honest but unlucky, and her mother does nothing but pressure her to marry. Her eldest sister is beautiful but hopelessly lovesick, determined to abandon her fiance and marry the officer she loves. Her younger sister is upright but terribly conventional, and at just sixteen, the neighbors already say she's destined to become an old maid. Caught in the middle, Katherine feels the pressure keenly. After much thought, she can only turn to writing as her way out. With modern writing techniques from the twenty-first century, she makes her way from a country estate to London and finally establishes herself in literary circles. Every time one of her new books comes out, long lines form outside bookstores, newspapers compete to report the news on their front pages, and all of London is swept up in the excitement. Charles Christie detests his fiancee's family. He's engaged to the eldest Ruskin daughter, but the two can't stand each other: he thinks she's frivolous, while she thinks he's an old fossil. Their fathers won't let them break off the engagement, and the Ruskin family is on the verge of bankruptcy, relying on this match to turn things around. But the troubled Charles finds solace in reading a serialized story by an author calling himself "George Bell." Critics accuse the writer of chasing attention and producing work with no value, but Charles, renowned for his refined scholarship, defends him single-handedly, even going to war with the entire literary world. Until George Bell's identity is revealed: it's Katherine, the second daughter of the family he hates most. Katherine: "I'm sorry my elder sister has caused you trouble, sir, but she's in love with someone else. You can end your engagement." Charles keeps his eyes fixed on Katherine. "...As it happens, miss, I think I've... found someone I love, too." Theme: The heroine stands on her own two feet and makes a name for herself in London through her own abilities.
