Synopsis

[Paragraph comments are open]

After the Witch Wars ended, Agatha, a witch worn down by the war, fled the universe with the tarot cards she'd made and returned to her home on Earth, Gotham, where she'd once been a mortal. She opened a small fortune-telling shop, determined to leave the witches' endless conflicts behind and live the peaceful life she'd always dreamed of.

The people of Gotham, beset by hardship, needed something to believe in, and business at the fortune-telling shop was booming. As time passed, its reputation spread, and more and more people came to her for answers: a restaurant boss who walked like a penguin, a victim of mental illness who carried a baseball bat, a former district attorney constantly arguing with himself, a fellow magician from Sin City... Even silicon-based life forms from the planet Cybertron came to visit, asking her question after question.

As a witch of the universe, Agatha warmly answered the oddballs' questions and showed them the way.

And made a fortune along the way.

Gotham changed in the blink of an eye, but Agatha's life remained orderly.

She thought she would live out the rest of her life alone and in peace.

Until one day, a man in a sharp suit walked into her shop and asked her:

"I want to know what would happen to Gotham if our vigilante died."

It was perhaps the first question to truly stump Agatha since she had returned to Gotham. She looked up in surprise and found the city's richest man standing before her, smiling.

"That's right," he said. "That fighter is going to die, and I need to confirm one last thing about him."

[Reading Guide]

- Gotham's caped fighter x an unprofessional witch from the universe

- Slow-burn, serious tone

- A note about some questions: This story has a fairly slow pace. Early on, the heroine is powerful but emotionally fragile, a contradiction rooted in her past. The following chapters will gradually explain it. Thank you for your questions and suggestions in the comments, and for reading patiently!

Theme: True love never dies, and may there be peace in the world.

Gotham City, Where the Locals Are Good-Natured

Mostly DC, with some others too. It's a mash-up of British and American fandoms, for stories that wouldn't fit in my Arkham list.

Complete Collection: Batman/Bruce/Old Man Pairings 1

I'll collect all stories released in the last two years with over 100 favorites. I'll rate the ones I've read: four stars for those with over 10,000 favorites, and three stars for the rest. For details and data from BAT, see the comments.

Some Harry Potter, Marvel, and DC Fics I’d Reread

Most are Iron Man, Batman, or Snape BG. That's exactly my thing. Five stars means I'm begging you to read it because it's ridiculously good. Four stars means it's still really good and worth a read.

The ratings mean something. You can't see the summaries from the list, so I've added brief overviews to make it easier to find stories. This list is full. Next list ID: JS366707
