Please Don't Pretend to Be Human

After retiring from an infinite-flow game, Shen Ze was assigned by the System, as promised, to become an "ordinary" high school boy.

Life as a high school boy was simple: go to class, play ball, and deal with a few troublesome admirers.

Shen Ze enjoyed this peaceful life.

But lately, things had become a little less peaceful.

For instance, a strange gaze would shine through the crack in the door while he showered, even though there was clearly no one else at home.

At midnight, he would feel something sticky on his lower leg, only for it to vanish as soon as he turned on the light.

Shen Ze gave a cold laugh. He would never allow any evil force to disturb his wonderful new life!

The next day, the trash can behind the house was full of bloody, foul-smelling chunks of flesh, and viscous liquid dripped steadily through the sewers.

The boy dusted off his hands, called the cleaners, then got on his bike and rode to school.

Everyone thought that retiring from an infinite-flow game meant they could finally live the good life.

That was until they stumbled upon the truth: the former number-one player, the server's platinum-tier champion, the only god-tier player ever to escape, had actually been sent by the System to a world of the uncanny.

There were no humans in that world at all. Every living thing was a disguise worn by something uncanny!

Shen Ze's former teammates rose up one after another, overthrowing the System's tyranny and charging in to rescue their leader.

They descended from the sky with particle cannons and energy guns, vowing to take the uncanny creatures down with them.

The ghostly figures radiating a terrifying aura froze, then slowly sank to their knees, bowing to the boy in his school uniform.

Their cold, evil voices trembled as they said, "My god..."

The teammates hurriedly lowered their cannons. "???"

The uncanny world became Shen Ze's playground. The strange creatures that craved delicious humans were beaten into chunks and stuffed into the trash cans in his backyard.

Terrified, they frantically begged the "King" who lived far away for help, asking it to devour Shen Ze.

The "King" said, all right.

Much later...

The slender boy was pressed deep into the arms of a tall, gloomy figure, who murmured and licked even the tips of his ears.

The voice was ancient and tender:

"You smell so good, but I can't eat you."

"Shen Ze, we'll be together forever, right?"
