The Dragon-Prince Cub Plays the Foil in a Farming Novel

Xiong Jiujiu had spent years playing all sorts of roles in collections of Long Aotian novels, always as a dragon-proud cub who never grew up.

Genius, arrogant, orphaned: those were the words that described him.

One day, a System bug made the veteran dragon-proud cub actor transmigrate into a farming novel as the foil cub!

In the end, the dragon-proud cub's whole family offended everyone in the village. They were driven out, then caught in a devastating drought and famine, and their family met a tragic end!

Xiong Jiujiu clenched his fist, about as big as a red-bean bun, and delivered the classic line: "My fate is mine to decide, not Heaven's!"

Then he turned to his violent father, weak dad, fierce grandpa, and wicked grandma. "Grandpa, you sleep little and get up early anyway. From now on, go study at the village school and pass the scholar exam so we can get our land-tax exemption!"

"Dad, every time you drink, you pick a fight. Fine, tomorrow you're going up the mountain to hunt a tiger! Don't come down until you win!"

"Grandma, you know exactly how many holes there are in other people's quilts. Keep going to the village entrance to gather intelligence, and follow all my orders!"

In the dragon-proud cub's family's eyes, he was just a three-year-old toddler, snow-white and chubby, bouncing around and babbling as he acted cute.

The dragon-proud cub was just about to put on a fierce face when his timid little dad kissed him on the forehead. "Be good, little treasure. No more acting cute. I'll buy you date cakes tomorrow, and Daddy will help you fall asleep."

His fierce father, gruff grandpa, and wicked grandma all gathered around to coax him, too.

Smelling the warm scent of his little dad, the dragon-proud cub suddenly quieted down.

In this life, he had the worst possible start. His legs were short, his body was round, and he had neither a golden finger nor a genius System.

He blinked, curled up in his little dad's arms, and yawned.

Hmph. If they behave, then he, the dragon-proud cub, might show great mercy and save them!

Later, the people of Chunfu Village were amazed to find that the Xiong family had stopped being so bear-like!

They built a big house and acquired farmland. The drunkard became a skilled hunter, his husband and mother-in-law started a little business, and most astonishing of all, Old Xiong went off to the village school leaning on a cane!

A little bonus scene:

Under the dragon-proud cub's leadership, the family finally got their lives on track.

Then one day, the farming novel's protagonist cub came looking for him.

The dragon-proud cub knitted his little brows. "What do you want?"

The protagonist cub of the farming novel, eyes brimming with tears, pulled a flower with fallen petals from his sleeve. "Xiong, Xiong Jiujiu, will you play house with me?"

The dragon-proud cub snorted and grabbed the flower. "Why are you always crying? You cried your family apart! I'm not coming home for dinner today!"

Before the protagonist cub of the farming novel could react, their game of house was already over.

But no one could have imagined that when they grew up, they really would build a family together!

The protagonists of this story are all men, and none of them bear children.
