Xi Yue had barely broken up with his ex-boyfriend when his funding for studying abroad was cut off. As luck would have it, just when he needed a solution, an agent messaged him to ask whether he was interested in a quick-paying job.

Unlike what the agent had said, Jiang Zaiye was not obedient at all. His Chinese wasn’t just bad; he seemed incapable of understanding plain English, either.

After Jiang Zaiye ignored Xi Yue’s “No kissing” for the eighth time, forcibly hugging and kissing him, Xi Yue couldn’t help slapping him.

Before he could apologize and try to smooth things over, Jiang Zaiye said honestly through his tears, “Waaah, big brother, you guessed right. I’m gay.”

Xi Yue’s teaching paid off, and Jiang Zaiye’s Chinese improved by leaps and bounds.

The first time Jiang Zaiye saw Xi Yue was outside a bar. He had just broken up with his ex-boyfriend and looked so beautiful crying.

The second time he saw Xi Yue was on a PDF, in a half-concealed bed photo that was unbearably sexy.

Jiang Zaiye figured those two scenes could easily be combined, like terms in an equation. For example, Xi Yue could cry in his bed.

So he pulled a few strings and made Xi Yue his Chinese tutor.

At first, Jiang Zaiye hadn’t planned to take the relationship seriously. He’d put on an act, sleep with Xi Yue a few times, and then come up with an excuse to break up.

Later, he discovered that Xi Yue was fascinating. A lofty beauty in public, he was especially fiery in bed. Jiang Zaiye grew a little curious about Xi Yue’s family background.

By the time he truly fell in love with Xi Yue and tried to do something to keep him by his side for good, Xi Yue said, “You hurt me. I’m leaving you.”[1]

He was the one who got dumped first.

Xi Yue wasn’t into crazy people, and he had even less interest in sweet-talking young men.

But if that person was Jiang Zaiye…

Maybe Xi Yue could teach him more than Chinese, like love and sex. With a nose bridge that fine and straight, what could he do with it? When he got down to it, Xi Yue’s kink was making a golden boy be his dog.

Reading Guide:

1. Both leads are inexperienced. As you can see, the blurb contains a narrative misdirection by the author. This is not BDSM fiction. The “dog” in the blurb means an older woman’s devoted younger boyfriend. “Older woman” is high praise here. Fengjie once praised Baoyu by saying, “You’re a noble person, with the bearing of a young woman.”

2. The author can’t handle praise. Compliment me too much and I’ll get so giddy I’ll turn into a donkey and update like crazy. Do not ship the female lead with anyone other than her intended partner. No need to tell me if you drop the story. Thanks to everyone who supports the official release. Also, please don’t make my protagonist feel inferior. He has a very strong sense of self-worth.

Shi Liu went to Manzhouli for a wedding. After it was over, he decided on the spur of the moment to spend some time out on the grasslands.

“Being a freelancer is great,” he said. His friend asked, “Have you rented a car?”

Shi Liu said innocently, “I don’t have a driver’s license.”

A crosswind swept across the grasslands. Song Youzhi felt a little irritated, but for the passenger’s safety, he had to concentrate even harder on driving.

“Do you know how to use the cigarette lighter?” he asked. “Light a cigarette for me.”

“Sure.”

The heating coil glowed red. Shi Liu gently pressed the tobacco against it, then put the cigarette between his lips and took a deep drag. Only then did it catch fire completely.

Song Youzhi glanced at him, and Shi Liu put the cigarette in his mouth.

“Hey.”

“Yeah?”

“If you want to kiss me, just say so. You don’t have to do this every time.”

Shi Liu teased him, “I saw you buy a lighter at the last rest stop.”

With a sharp squeal, Song Youzhi hit the brakes.

Well, then, let’s just kiss directly :)

Reading Guide:

1. A car cigarette lighter is a device that draws power from the car. It was originally designed to light cigarettes. You can’t light a cigarette just by holding it; someone has to take a drag :)

Xu Zhao is a socially anxious shut-in, as gloomy as a damp strand of seaweed growing on the ocean floor.

The widower is a bizarre-looking monster from the depths of the sea. One day, it catches the protagonist’s scent and has a fateful romantic encounter with him. Because of its species’ characteristics, it has a brood pouch like a male seahorse.

One day, Xu Zhao discovers that a fragile, beautiful, pitiful widower has just moved into the apartment across the hall. He also hears that the widower was abandoned by his husband as soon as he got pregnant…

Xu Zhao: “He can’t do anything, so he came to me for help.”

“He brought me pastries and turned down the handsome dentist downstairs.”

“The pastries smelled a little fishy and tasted really strange. The handsome dentist downstairs also moved away without me knowing… And he even asked me whether I liked children…”

“I think I’ve fallen for him.”

The beautiful widower asks Xu Zhao once again to help clear his drain. He also says there’s too much food in the refrigerator to deal with, and the washing machine’s drain is blocked, too.

Xu Zhao finds strange, fishy-smelling chunks of meat in the drain and helps him deal with the stuff in the refrigerator. He doesn’t quite understand why fish entrails need to be kept in there, too.

The washing machine also seems to be covered in blood, but the beautiful widower only says he washed some fresh ingredients that were difficult to handle.

Later, the beautiful widower invites Xu Zhao to dinner. He prepares a table full of food and lights rose-scented candles. In the warm, yellow candlelight, his face is as bewitching as a legendary sea monster. His lips are scarlet as if stained with blood, and his neat teeth are exceptionally white and sharp.

Xu Zhao decides to confess his feelings.
