"For three thousand years, your proud, unyielding bones imprisoned me without end. I guarded your return, keeping your way clear, and your splendor alive for a thousand years."
Shen Yunci seemed to have encountered Xie Zhaoxing three times in his life.
The first time was three thousand years ago. The mortal world was still a vast desert, with sandstorms raging and lives lost everywhere, while the heavens were like a fairyland, filled with splendor and prosperity. Shen Yunci was a god then. It seemed there was no such person as Xie Zhaoxing in heaven and earth, but Shen Yunci remembered that there was. Or perhaps he'd forgotten.
The second time was a thousand years ago, when the Kingdom of Qingxuan declared war on the Kingdom of Baiming. Shen Yunci wielded a spear, Xie Zhaoxing a sword. They fought for dozens of days before finally dying at each other's hands, giving their lives for their countries.
The third time was now, three thousand years into the cycle of reincarnation.
Shen Yunci slowly woke on a straw mat, only to discover in alarm that a little "monster" had appeared beside him!
A boy with fox ears and a tail... Xie Zhaoxing.
But no one remembered.
At this point, he was called Xie Chunqiao, a street performer who sang and performed traditional plays beneath the imperial city, and a part-time fortune-teller. The little "monster" sleeping beside him with its tail showing woke up, stared at him pitifully, and said it wanted to go home.
Xie Chunqiao patiently asked where his home was. The boy said he was Shen Zhouyu, the legitimate son of the current Grand General Shen and the young lord of the General's Estate.
Human shou, demon gong
Shen Yunci (Xie Chunqiao) x Xie Zhaoxing (Shen Zhouyu)
Reader advisory:
1. They have only ever loved each other, body and soul, for thousands of years; younger gong
2. Secretly, they're both crazy
3. A fifty-fifty balance between plot and romance
4. More to come if I think of anything
