The good-for-nothing mage Ji En was terrible at magic but outstanding at logistics. When the hero's party kicked him out, he had nowhere else to go. So, at a friend's invitation, he eagerly headed for his friend's hometown, the most beautiful town around: Starfall Town.
Only to find out he'd been tricked.
With demons running rampant, Starfall Town had become a bleak ruin. His friend's farm was completely empty, with nothing left at all.
Ji En: Can I really survive here?
Until
“Ding! Farm System successfully activated.”
Later, a reporter interviewed Ji En, the world's number-one farmer, asking how he'd managed to turn a long-abandoned farm into the largest on a continent polluted by demons, where plants couldn't grow and animals mutated into monsters.
Ji En hesitated. “Uh...”
The townsfolk nearby frantically tried to get in front of the camera.
“It's magic! Ji En is a legendary archmage. He was the first to figure out how to use magic for farming!”
Ji En: Actually, the Farm System just shortened the time it takes for crops to mature.
“He's an alchemist, too. He installed magical air conditioners in every home in town!”
Ji En: The System gave me the blueprints. As long as you have the materials, you can put one together by hand.
“He even purified the demonic energy and returned the whole continent to normal!”
Ji En: That was the System too...
“His cooking is amazing, too!”
Ji En perked right up. “That part's true! I can even fatten up a dragon.”

After defeating the Demon King, the farm's true owner promptly stepped down as the hero and quietly returned to his hometown.
When his friend asked why, Astarion replied solemnly,
“Being a hero is nowhere near as fun as coming home to farm.”
What could be better than a wife and kids waiting for you at home?
The dragon, head down and eating like mad, was nearly as fat as a piglet. “Huh?”
So it's a kid?
Mom! I want more!

Wasteland Survival: My Luck Stat Is EX
While out scavenging, Xia Xinglang found a brain-computer interface. It invited him to play a game called Wasteland Survival.
The game provided not only shelter but also clean food and water. All he had to do was find materials and supplies to upgrade his shelter and work hard to survive.
Xia Xinglang: ?
Wasn't that what he'd been doing all along? Now he had to play a game to experience it? What a load of nonsense.
It was the 24th century, and there were still scammers running phone scams in the wasteland.
Xia Xinglang put the device out of his mind, only to be forcibly bound to it the next second. When a System interface and a global chat group suddenly appeared before him, he freaked out.
“Qi Zhanye, there's a ghost!!!”
*
Qi Zhanye was dying. In the wasteland, people dying was nothing unusual. His only worry was how the child he'd worked so hard to raise would manage alone after he was gone.
So he did everything he could to teach the kid survival skills, how to scavenge for supplies, and how to use firearms.
But Xia Xinglang had probably been spoiled too much. Even looking for supplies could leave him with a cut on his hand, and he'd come crying back home.
Then one day, Xia Xinglang came running back, bursting with excitement. “Qi Zhanye! You don't have to die anymore!”
Qi Zhanye: ? The poor kid's saying nonsense now.
Then Xia Xinglang dug up a treasure chest in some completely random place and found a healing potion inside.
Qi Zhanye suddenly perked up.
*
After trying out Wasteland Survival, Xia Xinglang thought the game was way too easy!
Global chat group: Where do we find weapons? How do we fight zombies? Why did I finally get a pistol blueprint, only to have to find bullets separately?
Xia Xinglang blinked at the five stacks of incendiary grenades he'd just found in a treasure chest.
Global chat group: Food, I need food! I'm starving, and I can't beat the zombies outside.
Xia Xinglang sat obediently, waiting for Qi Zhanye to bake him a fragrant little cake.
Global chat group: A zombie horde is coming. Good luck, everyone.
After hearing the news, Xia Xinglang found a blueprint for a large shelter and safely rode out the zombie horde.
Qi Zhanye: ...
Was the kid he'd raised really this lucky? How did he always get whatever he needed?
They say foolish kids have foolish luck.
