I Got Scammed Out of 200 Yuan in an Online Romance

Qin Yucheng got tagged in a post: “Holy crap! So gorgeous! My whole life has been ruined by pretty boys!”

In the video, a young man showed off his arms and legs, swaying around amid verdant hills and clear waters.

The comments were full of people calling him “baby” and “wife,” clamoring to kiss, cuddle, and sleep with him.

Qin Yucheng replied scornfully: “Cheap and vulgar.”

As Miao Xingxing walked home with a bundle of firewood on his back, he happily watched the video and all the compliments people were giving him, until he saw that negative comment.

Miao Xingxing: Not happy anymore (T_T)

He furiously typed out two thousand words, then deleted them all. He made a female account and messaged the guy: “Hey, big bro, are you there? ^o^”

Miao Xingxing watched smugly as the other guy got more and more hooked. He planned to swindle him out of 200 yuan, reveal who he was, then block him and leave him hopping mad. That would teach him to call Miao Xingxing vulgar.

But the other guy sent him 20,000 yuan outright, scaring him so badly he dropped his phone into the cooking pot.

The more he thought about it, the guiltier he felt. He returned 19,800 yuan, then swiftly sent a photo, mocked him, and blocked him, all in one go. He planned never to cross paths with him again.

Rather than say Qin Yucheng was heartbroken, it was more accurate to say that his social-research subject had run off. Then the new school year began, and among the freshmen was a junior carrying a woven plastic sack to register. He looked exactly like the person who had swindled him out of 200 yuan.
