Support the Cold

Everyone knew that Yuheng, the useless third young master of the Qingsang Clan, had a secret crush on Fu Han, the junior sister of the Hongmeng Sect. He would brave fire and water for her, and never shrink from death.

Junior Sister Fu Han cultivated the ruthless path, severing all affection and desire. With her Frostbound Sword, she slayed demons and drove out evil, standing unrivaled as the greatest cultivator in the world. Her ascension to immortality was just around the corner.

Everyone mocked Yuheng for indulging in a hopeless fantasy. Even if Junior Sister Fu Han did not cultivate the ruthless path, she would never look twice at him. Yet no one expected the Hongmeng Sect elders to push for the marriage.

Everyone thought the elders had lost their minds. But on their wedding day, on the night of their nuptials, Yuheng took Fu Han's hand and resolutely drove the Frostbound Sword into his own heart.

Lying in a pool of blood amid the red wedding silk, he gazed at her with a smile. "To kill one's kin and prove the Dao is the final step to ascending through the ruthless path. Junior Sister has no kin, so I am willing... to send you to become an immortal..."

The wedding guests were stunned. The Hongmeng Sect elders rubbed their hands together, beaming with excitement, waiting for the eighteen bolts of heavenly lightning to strike and Fu Han to ascend safely, becoming the only person to ascend in the cultivation world in two hundred years.

They waited and waited, only for heavenly thunder and earthly fire to descend at once. Fu Han failed to become an immortal and was about to fall into demonic corruption.
