(I've borrowed and made up a few things from Cultist Simulator. It's so out of character that it's really just a setting. Please don't hit me, fellow players. Hides under a helmet.jpg.)
The Cocoon Folk have no names. They have no such thing as names; their cocoons and cocoon garments are proof of their identities.
The Cocoon Folk have a grand blueprint for their people. They will link their dreams together and gather the thoughts of all their kin, creating a more complete, wondrous, and ever-changing collective dream.
The priest divides the plan into three parts. Carrying blank fragments of the blueprint, a Cocoon Folk sets out on a journey to record every new wonder, explore the blueprint of life, and uncover the secrets of civilization.
Mountains and forests, deserts, oceans, polar lands; different species, different social structures, different blueprints. Even their interpretations of faith are worlds apart, sometimes utterly opposed.
The blueprint gradually fills out. At last, the Cocoon Folk sets off for home, carrying a blueprint covered in intricate images and text back to where their people live.
It crawls into the cocoon it had left behind so long ago and metamorphoses in its dream. Spreading mottled wings, it flies all night through the woods, scattering scales that grow into countless insect larvae amid a chorus of buzzing.
Thus the Three Gods of Dreams took their rightful places. Their descendants remembered this and recorded it in the history books, preserving it in stories.

Is what people see necessarily true? Beyond the sky lies another sky; beyond the veil, another veil. What lies beyond history? We explore the world, yet know nothing. The Radiance is a question. We doubt the world; we question ourselves.

Ah, so cold. Should I change my name and feng shui?
It may be a bit messy, but this is a prequel type of work, which mainly explains the world view.
