One night, on a whim, I played a strategy game on a certain gaming platform. It had only four chapters, each set in a different world, with a different protagonist to pursue.
In the first chapter, I was the playmate of a lonely young master, serving as his younger brother, his servant, and his toy while his parents were away. At the end of the chapter, I sailed across the ocean and vanished without a trace. In truth, I died.
In the second chapter, I was an incredibly powerful sentinel in a future interstellar era, able to take down ten people with one punch (that is an exaggeration). I mainly competed against an unruly genius, fighting him and getting beaten by him. At the end of the chapter, I boldly declared that I would settle the score with the genius someday, then died before I could fulfill my ambitions.
In the third chapter, I was a border guard, a burden to a taciturn young general and, when necessary, his cheerleader. My assessment was that I was less useful than a therapy dog. A therapy dog can eat shit when it has no food, but I can't, so I died again.
In the fourth chapter, I was a doctor... I hadn't even finished playing it when I ran into them in real life.
Yes, them.
Nobody told me the characters you pursue in this game could show up in the real world!
"Help! The characters I pursued have come to the real world!"
"How am I supposed to explain that I wasn't two-timing four people, they were characters from different games! (cat clutching its head and screaming)"
Reader's Guide:
1. The main text is written in third person.
2. The love interest appears in fragments.
3. It's a sentinel-guide story, though you might not realize it until later.
4. It leans toward mystery and puzzle-solving, but may still contain disturbing scenes (I've found my comfort zone!).
Theme: Hard work pays off.
