[Honkai: Star Rail] My Frog Is a Galaxy Ranger

Shang Lu worked for Lady Jade, one of the Ten Stonehearts.

One day, a friend recommended that he download a game called Travel Frog. From the start, he got a frog with shark teeth who called everyone “baby” all day long.

At first, Bobo Frog paid him no mind and refused to send him postcards. Instead, it spent all day making trouble for the company, which was also Shang Lu's employer.

Shang Lu kept playing for a number of reasons. For one, the beauty mark beneath Bobo Frog's eye was exactly his type. For another, Bobo Frog was making trouble for the Market Development Department next door.

As luck would have it, their Strategic Investment Department and the Market Development Department had overlapping responsibilities, and the two departments were competing in business.

To enjoy the other department's misfortune, Shang Lu gladly spent his own money outfitting Bobo Frog, watching it turn the neighboring department into a complete mess in the game.

In return, Bobo Frog sent him some postcards and strange items.

Shang Lu: Still the Market Development Department? Need more gear? I'll get you some.

[Bobo Frog: Took a picture of the aurora while I was there.]

Shang Lu looked at how long it had taken to take the photo and tactfully chose not to call it out.

[Bobo Frog: Some worthless thing a bunch of people were fighting over]

Wasn't the lab running short on this exact energy source?

Shang Lu had always thought Bobo Frog was a character in a game, probably created by some studio that disliked the neighboring department. Somehow, it had been exactly to his liking.

Until he went on a business trip to Penacony with Lady Jade. As he made coffee in the ecological ship's break room, a cybernetically enhanced man appeared behind him.

A gun barrel pressed against his lower back.

“Sweetheart, do you damn well know where Oswaldo Schneider is?”

Oh, great. He was here to cause trouble for a rival.

Shang Lu silently raised his hands and turned around, ready to “reluctantly” tell him a thing or two.

Wait, why did this cyborg look so much like Bobo Frog?!

And the gun in his hand... It was unmistakably the one Shang Lu had designed and made himself just a few days ago!

* Boothill pairing, 1v1

* The protagonist is short-lived. No lifespan-gap angst.

* A sweet little story without much of a major plot.
