Bottom's POV:
Lin Qingze is the pampered young master of the Lin family. Everything has gone his way since childhood, except for one thing that has always troubled him.
Why has that guy been his deskmate for as long as he can remember?
That guy had a nasty personality, loved playing tricks on people, and was shamelessly flirtatious. Since Lin Qingze was forced to sit beside him, he was always the target of his pranks. Yet that guy acted like a perfect gentleman in front of teachers and parents, leaving Lin Qingze with no way to complain.
Oh, God, I don't want to sit beside this guy anymore!
On his eighteenth birthday, he made a sincere wish over the candles. Perhaps the gods heard him, because he finally broke off this doomed connection when he went to college.
Yes!
Lin Qingze nearly jumped for joy, but he never imagined that college would bring him a new problem.
He seemed to have fallen in love.
He had fallen for his roommate, but his roommate didn't seem to like him.
No matter. He could pursue him.
Lin Qingze was full of confidence. He spent two years chasing Zhou Jitong, bringing him into the upper circles of the imperial capital and treating him wonderfully, but Zhou Jitong remained indifferent.
"Lin Qingze, after sitting beside you for so many years, I never knew you liked being someone's lovesick puppy."
His hated former deskmate, Su Yiyao, went out of his way to call and mock him. Lin Qingze was furious and told him, "I'm not a lovesick puppy!" Then he angrily hung up and, with practiced ease, blocked someone's new phone number.
He believed that sincerity could move even stone, and that one day Zhou Jitong would change his mind.
But that day never came. Instead, his heart was broken.
When Zhou Jitong smashed his beloved violin in public at a banquet, Lin Qingze calmly decided he didn't want to love him anymore.
Top's POV:
Su Yiyao was troubled. He had been immature as a child and always made the person he loved angry. He hadn't realized he would leave such a terrible impression. It was truly a headache.
In high school, he turned over a new leaf and tried to improve that impression. It seemed to work quite well, and he was about to seize the moment and confess his feelings. But then something happened in his final year of high school, and he had no choice but to go abroad and build up his strength for the future.
He never imagined that after he left the country, the person he loved would not only block him, but also fall for someone else in college. Su Yiyao felt as if lightning had struck him, and his heart shattered.
Growing more anxious by the minute, he called the person he loved to sound him out, only to be cruelly hung up on. Su Yiyao resolved to find a way to return home at once, meet the rumored fox spirit in person, sever this doomed connection for the one he loved, and then pick up where they left off, even though it seemed they had never had a past together. But that didn't matter.
"I've loved you for so many years, from an oblivious boy to a man in a fine suit."
Earnest, slightly clueless cutie bottom × fake flirt, truly devoted, big bad wolf top
Note:
1. Qingqing never liked Zhou Jitong. He only thought he did. From beginning to end, there was only one person he ever truly loved.
2. At heart, this is a story of two people whose mutual crush finally comes true. Heart hands.
3. The couple is locked together forever. I swallowed the key.
4. Zhou Jitong is out from the very beginning.
