[Honkai: Star Rail] After I Got My Hands on the High-Cloud Quintet's Bad Ending Script

[Reader advisory: This story aims to recreate the plot of the High-Cloud Quintet story from the game as faithfully as possible, though it inevitably includes some subjective speculation and a few minor changes.]

[I really love the High-Cloud Quintet story, so this story is also known as the unofficial history of the High-Cloud Quintet, written by an author who runs on love.]

[First-person narration]

Blurb:

As a newly appointed fictional historian with professional integrity, my first step toward rewriting history is to restore the truth.

But I never expected that restoring the past would require me to take part in it myself... I invented a sixth member of the High-Cloud Quintet who never existed. I guess I... maybe... possibly succeeded?

The parrot cage in front of Sanyu Bookshop has been covered with a white cloth for three hundred years, unchanged.

“His feathers are like those of a phoenix, his beak can sing the music of heaven. He folds his wings, puts down his brush, and falls silent, saying he is tired of speaking the language of mortals.”*

[Dan Feng pairing, reader-insert style, from the fictional historian’s point of view]

[The author is currently enjoying some free time and will update like crazy. I hope everyone leaves lots of comments so we can have fun together.]

Theme: After more than six hundred years in the mortal world, it all ends like a dream, as though it were nothing.
