So the Protagonist Decided to Die

[Free short story, complete]

Lin Yi was a beastkin who should have been exiled. Her Mr. rescued her, and she thought she might spend the rest of her life by his side, serving him.

Until they told her: You are a carrier of the parasitic species' queen. Now, if only you are willing to die, this disaster threatening the world can finally be brought to an end.

Lin Yi wanted to live.

Lin Yi willingly went to her death.

On the day she left, she still asked him:

"Could you smile for me, Mr.?"

[A self-indulgent story written because I wanted to enjoy a little angst. My take on interstellar fiction, with a rather saintly heroine, so read with caution. The story began with a dream I had, and I wrote it in a burst of enthusiasm while in a less-than-ideal state of mind. The male lead is purely a fusion of the author's personal tastes. The views in this book have nothing to do with what the author thinks in real life.]
