[Joy of Life] May We Rejoice Together for Years to Come

[Drama adaptation fanfiction, the heroine is Mei Zhili’s youngest daughter, paired with Li Chengze]

“I may be a prince, but I’m less favored than Fan Xian and lower in status than the Crown Prince.”

“Choosing me would be foolish.”

Li Chengze lounged on the swing, rocking idly as he narrowed his eyes at the person kneeling respectfully three steps away.

She was a foolish girl. Today, instead of dressing herself in plain white as if she were in mourning, she wore a bold, fiery red like a maple leaf.

She raised both arms, holding out a cup of tea. When she looked up, her eyes were red, as if she had been crying.

“Because, to me, Your Highness is a good person.”

The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The hope in Mei Yanhuan’s heart faded bit by bit, until she heard a soft laugh.

“You want to follow me that badly?”

“Yes. I beg Your Highness to accept me as your disciple, teach me the art of political intrigue, and be my mentor.”

At some point, the swing had stopped. Li Chengze leaned forward, and the wine cup in his hand brushed against the rim of her teacup.

The force was a little too strong, but before both cups could fall, he reached out and hooked her by the arm, steadying her. Then he fell off the swing himself.

In the dim candlelight, they were both dressed in red, like a newlywed couple performing the nuptial wine ritual.

Li Chengze tilted his head back and drained his cup. As it hit the ground, he leaned close to her ear, his voice low and husky.

“Think it through. If you follow me, I won’t just be your teacher in political intrigue.”

At first, Mei Yanhuan really only wanted to leave her sheltered world and learn the art of political maneuvering from the clever Second Prince.
