Young Master Nanmuxiang

To the north of Xitan City stands an abandoned temple called Wenshi.

A remarkable tree grew in the temple. Its faint fragrance filled the air, and after years of being steeped in the incense offered by humans, it gained a spirit.

A gray-robed Daoist saw that the tree was unlike ordinary trees. He carved the four characters "Knowing and Understanding Fate" into its trunk, then swept away his sleeves and left.

A thousand years later, surrounded by the incense of the temple, the tree finally took human form. One day, it met a woman, and as they talked, each recognized the other as a kindred spirit.

The woman had secretly run away to Wenshi Temple to escape an arranged marriage. There, she met a man surrounded by a faint fragrance, and the two cherished one another as they spent time together.

But she did not know that her family had searched the mountain and set fire to the temple, and the fragrant tree was caught in the flames as well.

She was taken away, and he was consumed by the fire. Faced with such an unjust fate, how could they simply refuse to fight back?
