The Buddha taught the Dharma for forty-nine years and preached the Dharma in this mountain. At that time, King Bimbisara of the Magadha Kingdom, in order to hear the Dharma, sent a large number of people to build a road starting from the foot of the mountain, using stone steps across the valley and over the high rocks to reach the top of the mountain. This road is more than ten paces wide and five or six miles long.
Master Padmasambhava's figure appears on the trail of Lingjiu Mountain, and a subtle fragrance comes from time to time in the void. Among them, the stronger aroma is emitted by the gods of heaven and earth, world lords, and dakinis. They clasped their hands joyfully to welcome the arrival of the great masters. Some were flying in the air, like spiritual shadows; some were standing on the rocks; some were standing by the roadside; there were also earth gods who were half of their bodies floating on the ground and the lower half of their bodies were sunk in the earth. The wonderful fragrance of joy naturally emanated from their bodies. In addition, in the void, there are countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, joyfully shining their light on Padmasambhava, and their bodies exude the extremely elegant and inconceivably pure fragrance of Dharma.
On the way, Padmasambhava first came to a pagoda called Xiayang. The mountain god guarding the mountain explained to Padmasambhava: "Master! This pagoda is called the lower vehicle. When King Bimbisara came here in a car, in order to show respect to the Buddha, he would get off the car here and climb the Eagle Peak on foot, so it is called the lower vehicle." After hearing the explanation of the mountain god of Lingshan Mountain, Padmasambhava happily paid homage to the Buddha.
