[Yao Shi] Echoes in the Empty Valley + So-Called Happiness

A tremendous sound kept ringing in his mind, like an echo of his own sobbing. He looked at everyone with a scrutinizing gaze. 'I only want... an echo that will never let me down...' Only when no one else was around, and then only once in a while, would Hisui look at him quietly with a languid air and give him a gentle embrace. "How can we know whether this really happened? Forgive me for saying this, but the whole thing feels fabricated. It doesn't feel real." The government office was so quiet, yet the echoes rang all around him. Each one was Hisui calling his name. "Who needs eternal promises? Who needs security? Who needs composure? Who needs to be pure and spotless? Who asked for any of that? Whoever needs it can take it. I don't want it." Disclaimer: No character stealing; a faithful one-on-one pairing. The ending is tragic, the protagonist dies, and the protagonist gets married. The protagonist is absolutely not a saintly submissive. No characters are distorted or vilified. A fan work based on Koei's game Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time 2. Character designs by To-ko Mizuno; the manga was published by Hakusensha.
