Secondhand Romance

One evening, while browsing the campus forum, Shou came across a post:

[ I got myself a soulmate in Xiaoyao You. He really likes me and even gives me outfits and all kinds of gifts, but I have a boyfriend in real life, and we're about to get married. I'm selling my in-game soulmate here. We never voice-chatted or added each other on WeChat. Only 998! Get my account and a top-tier soulmate who's stupidly rich and deeply devoted, all in one package. ]

Shou sneered. "Idiot."

Then he turned around, bought the account, and told the poor soulmate who'd had his sincere feelings betrayed what had really happened.

Gong: Thank you.

Gong: But we've worked so hard to get our soulmate level this high, and I gave you so many outfits and gifts to raise it. It'd be a shame to give up now. Would you keep being my soulmate?

Shou: ?

Shou: Dude, I'm a guy.

Gong: That doesn't matter. We don't have to be romantic. We can just be gaming buddies.

Thinking he might as well see the favor through, Shou agreed.

But as they kept playing, he somehow ended up becoming a real couple with his secondhand soulmate.

One day, after they got together, Shou was lying with his head on Gong's lap, playing on Gong's phone. He accidentally logged into Gong's secondary WeChat account and realized it looked oddly familiar. His own WeChat account was even on the contact list.

He tapped on it and found the chat records from when the "cheating girlfriend" had sold him her soulmate account.

Shou: ???

The author is terrible at writing blurbs. Basically, Gong is messing around, while Shou is a gaming newbie from outside the scene who takes it all seriously.
