Even Side Characters in School Stories Deserve to Live

[Blurb]

There's always a figure like this in danmei campus novels.

The hapless buddy of the cold, domineering protagonist bottom.

This buddy usually has a common surname like Zhang, Wang, Li, or Liu, and is usually plain-looking. The protagonist school bully is second to last in class, and he's dead last.

He's bad at school and has no charm. He shouts about chasing girls but can't even get close to one. Every day he cracks jokes and provides comic relief, never stops talking, and drags the protagonist to internet cafes, karaoke bars, and bars all day long, just to give the protagonist top and school bully bottom a chance to be alone together.

In the end, the main couple gets together happily and studies for Tsinghua and Peking University like their lives depend on it. Meanwhile, this buddy has a diploma from a vocational college and has to stand off to the side, winking and saying, “I knew there was something going on between you two. Congrats!”

Who wouldn't call him a sucker?

So I, Wang Chaitai, transmigrated into that world.

I'm not going to be that hapless buddy.

A supporting character's life matters too!

The protagonist's name is a pun on “Wang Chaitai,” meaning “Wang Wrecks the Mood.” This is just a silly, satirical story with a wild premise, and isn't aimed at anyone. Don't read yourself into it, and don't drag unrelated people into comparisons. I'm just a writer, so please don't yell at me. Thanks!
