Does the Egg Pancake Look Good?

[My current serial, I Absolutely Will Divorce Tomorrow, is a quirky, sweet childhood-friends romance. I hope you'll come check out this fun story!]

Chen Jianli has been patronizing Liang Siyue's egg-pancake stall for six days straight. Even though he's far too devoted to his favorite foods, Liang Siyue knows exactly how good her cooking is.

She suspects there's definitely something fishy going on.

Unable to contain her curiosity, Liang Siyue finally asks him directly: "Are my pancakes really that good?"

Chen Jianli's eyes shine as he gazes at her without blinking. He says very seriously, "They're pretty."

"Huh?" Liang Siyue looks down suspiciously at the pancake in her hand. Surely either her ears or his eyes must be broken.

Oh, good. It's not her. She even heard Chen Jianli's very quiet laugh.

She also hears him say, "Can you tell? I'm using the pancake to hint at someone."

All right. Their senses are working just fine.
