I Found an Assassin in the Cold Palace

Liuying was born in the Cold Palace and depended on her older sister for everything.

Her sister was mentally disoriented and had trouble moving, but she possessed a spatial treasure full of overgrown weeds and poisonous insects.

So Liuying volunteered to dig up roots in the space every day, facing all kinds of thrilling dangers to keep them both alive.

One day, flames blazed beyond the palace walls, and voices cried out everywhere, "Catch the assassin! Catch the assassin!"

At the same time, Liuying found a young man from Miaojiang inside the walls.

They hadn't eaten meat in ages. So Liuying picked him up and hid him in the space.

He didn't want to become meat. So the young man diligently cleared the land in the space, playing his flute until the poisonous insects scattered.

And thus, the three of them reached the happy arrangement of having meat to eat.

Sadly, their good fortune didn't last. The young man's injuries wouldn't heal, and his life was in danger. Liuying was frantic.

That day, flames again blazed beyond the palace walls, and everyone was searching for assassins. Inside the walls, she found an imperial physician in court robes.

They needed meat at every meal. So Liuying picked him up and hid him in the space.

He wanted meat too. The physician diligently identified herbs in the space and managed to treat the young man.

From then on, all four of them had meat to eat. It would be even better if they could cook it in more ways.

That day, there were flames and an assassin. Liuying found a royal chef carrying a knife.

Outside the Cold Palace, the palace servants set fires, shouted, and searched everywhere every day.

Inside, Liuying and the others cleared land, subdued savage beasts, and opened up fields.

Their lives grew more and more comfortable.

Until one day, the emperor happened to pass by the Cold Palace.

After all this time, the criminals inside must be dead, surely? The emperor snorted and strolled in.

Then he was surrounded by seven or eight rosy-cheeked, vigorous outlaws.

The emperor: ???

Liuying and her sister smiled at him. "It's not that you won't get what's coming to you. The time just hasn't come yet."

When the time comes, every one of you will get what's coming to you.
