Now It's the Author's Turn to Wrap Up!

I'm a third-rate novelist. Jianglin was the character I liked least of all the ones I'd written, yet by a twist of fate, he made me famous.

He is cold, insane, contemptuous of life, and indifferent to the law. He loves no one and nothing. Those are the traits I gave him, bit by bit, until he became the Jianglin of today.

I created him, but I don't love him.

On January 1, I was sitting at my computer when I noticed a new character in my document. It had been entered at two thirty in the morning.

On January 2, I found another line in the document. It had been entered in the early hours again.

[Greetings]

On January 3, I was preparing an outline for my new book as usual. Before I even touched the keyboard, the words in the document began to move on their own.

Someone was trying to change, one by one, all the good things I'd given the protagonist.

I typed a few characters.

[Who are you?]

A few words appeared strangely on the computer screen:

[Your believer]

A chill ran down my spine, and a name flashed through my mind.

Jianglin.

**

[You are not a person or an object]

[To me, you are God]

[I love you, worship you, and long to meet you. And then...]

I leapt to my feet.

I knew Jianglin better than anyone, so I knew better than anyone what kind of madness he might resort to.

[...kill you]

"God who created me, it's time for you to wrap up."

My face went pale. That last sentence hadn't appeared in the document. It had sounded from behind my ear.

In the reflection on my computer screen, I saw a figure standing behind me.

He whispered, "You should have loved me."

This is the story of a villain (top) who gives everything he has but still isn't loved by his creator. After being forcibly written out, he suffers a minor breakdown and drags the novelist (bottom) into another dimension to act out the script he wrote. But even in the story he crafted just for himself, the novelist still doesn't love him, and he completely loses it.

Novelist: No gloomy, brooding types. I only love sunny people, and I always have.

Theme: Refuse to be defined.
